Want to join in an exciting NEW experience, getting behind the scenes and caring for our animals as part of the aquarist team for the day?
Now you can! You’ll experience the enjoyment, commitment and dedication needed to care for over 5000 marine animals at the UK’s conservation Aquarium right here in Plymouth.
Jump into the shoes of our aquarist team and become a Keeper for a Day. You’ll get hands-on with the team caring for and encountering some of our most charismatic animals! Discover the different feeding techniques used for a selection of amazing animals, which may include some of the following; our Green Sea Turtle, Eagle Rays, Boxfish, Cowfish, and Red Mullet (smaller animals vary daily, so specific species cannot be guaranteed). Throw on a lab coat and carry out fascinating colour changing pH and salinity testing. Roll up your sleeves and prepare food, take part in animal enrichment sessions, and learn how habitats are cleaned and maintained to ensure the health of the animals.
