An incredible 1 million of you watched BBC2 ‘Secrets of The Aquarium‘ series last year, showcasing the dedicated work of the National Marine Aquarium as we support vital conservation and look after over 5,000 amazing marine animals.

We’re speaking with Andrew, one of the stars of the show, to discuss Larry the Lobster, and the trails and tribulations of prepping an exhibit for his big move!In the show one of Marcus, our curator, has a plan for renovating the exhibits in our Seagrass Walk. This means moving resident lobster, Larry. During the episode we follow Andrew as he builds Larry a new cave to make him feel at home. However, once in the new exhibit, Larry ignores the cave and breaks into the mechanism of the wave machine to live there instead. Not the outcome we wanted! Watch below to see how Larry has settled in.

The National Marine Aquarium (NMA) is the UK’s National Aquarium, located in Britain’s Ocean City, Plymouth. We are proudly the home of the Ocean Conservation Trust, a charity dedicated to connecting people with the Ocean.
