The Ocean Conservation Trust at the National Marine Aquarium is looking to recruit 3 Aquarium Assistants to work within our Café/Soft Play department. The main purpose of the role is to engage with our visitors and provide excellent customer service while they are using our café or soft play facilities.

We are looking for people who excel in customer care, who are friendly and efficient and who are resilient as during school holidays it can get extremely busy. We are looking for people who want to provide a top-class service to our customers and ensure that all required standards are met regarding Food Hygiene, Health and Safety etc. We are particularly looking for people with energy and initiative. This helps us to achieve our charitable aims in driving marine conservation through engagement.

No previous experience is required as full training will be provided however you will have excellent communication skills and will be confident when dealing with members of the public and experience in a busy customer focused environment would be beneficial.

There are 6 permanent positions available to be covered over 7 days or weekends only as detailed below. All applicants must be available to work weekends, public and bank holidays and throughout the school holidays. Additional hours may be available.

1 x Permanent Contract 24 hours per week – over 7 days, 4 weekly rolling pattern.

1 x Permanent Contract 18 hours per week– over 7 days, 4 weekly rolling pattern.

1 x Permanent Contract 12 hours per week – weekends only

3 x Permanent Contract 6 hours per week – weekends only
