Terms & Conditions

Unaccompanied children are not allowed into the Aquarium, unless at the Duty Manager's discretion.

No two discounts or concessions can be used together in any one transaction.

Hours of business are: 10 am to 5 pm from 1st October to 31st March; 10 am to 6 pm from 1st April to 30th September. Last admission is strictly one hour before closure. We are closed on 24th and 25th December. If for any reason we are closed on any other day this will be advertised on our website from the start of business of that day.

Some exhibits may be closed due to safety or technical reasons.
Prices are correct at time of going to press and are subject to change without notification.
We reserve the right to refuse entry to the Aquarium.
Membership cards are non-transferable.

Please be aware that as of the 1st April 2012 we will no longer be accepting Tesco Days Out tokens as a payment type for day admission tickets.

No pets, other than guide dogs, are allowed in the Aquarium.

Online booking

Once purchased, on-line tickets may not be used in conjunction with any other offer.

Tickets may not be resold.

Any on-line discounts or offers are available in limited quantities for limited periods only and are not be available for bookings made by phone or in person.

Please bring along your 8-digit booking reference number and/or email print-out and make you way to the Fast Track entrance.

4D Cinema

Please be aware that the effects of the 4D film include seat movement, flashing lights and water sprays.

You are not advised to see the 4D film if you are pregnant, suffer from epilepsy, have back problems or are fitted with a pacemaker.

The effects of the 4D film may also be too intense for young children under the age of 5 years.

The last screening in the 4D cinema is at 5 pm during the summer and 4 pm during the winter.

Day Plus Pass

The National Marine Aquarium Day Plus Pass allows you, and your family members with you on the day of your visit, to return to National Marine Aquarium free for a 12-month period. On the next visit after purchase, Day Plus Pass holders will be required to attach a passport style photograph to the Day Plus Pass form and bring some form of additional photo ID (e.g. a passport or driving licence) for validation of your pass. On subsequent visits you will just need to bring your validated Day Plus Pass.

Family members listed on the Day Plus Pass form given to you on purchase of your admission to the National Marine Aquarium may visit individually if they have the complete original form with them. Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Day Plus Pass cannot be used on certain bank holidays.

In addition to Christmas Eve and Christmas Day (when the Aquarium is closed) Day Plus Passes cannot be used on the first five bank holidays following the purchase of the pass. For example, if you purchased your Day Plus Pass ticket on 6th April 2012 you would not be able to use it on the first five bank holidays following this date, i.e. 9th April, 7th May, 4th & 5th June and 27th August 2012.

Replacement copies will not be issued if the Day Plus Pass is lost, stolen or misplaced.

If any of these Terms and Conditions should be determined to be illegal, invalid or otherwise unenforceable by reason of the laws of any state or country in which these Terms and Conditions are intended to be effective, then to the extent and within the jurisdiction which that Term or Condition is illegal, invalid or unenforceable, it shall be severed and deleted from this clause and the remaining Terms and Conditions shall survive, remain in full force and effect and continue to be binding and enforceable.

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Disputes arising herefrom shall be exclusively subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
