For the 3rd year running, we’re holding Quiet at the Aquarium for families with sensory needs to explore the exhibits without the noise and distraction of our daily shows, creating a calm and friendly atmosphere for everyone.
Here at the NMA, we acknowledge that creating an inclusive environment sometimes means to lower the noise levels for visitors to enjoy an evening at the Aquarium which is fun and comfortable for everyone. As an afterhours event, it is also an exclusive chance for visitors to enjoy the Aquarium’s serene exhibits and meet all of our 4000 animals at night.
Research conducted at the NMA has illustrated how viewing Aquarium exhibits has therapeutic effects and can improve moods and relieve stress. Visitors can enjoy the NMA journey at their own pace – and take their time to see the curious personalities and quirks of the animals in our exhibits.
We’ve had fantastic feedback from previous events highlighting the friendly and welcoming atmosphere produced by the NMA staff. Creating a relaxing and stress-free evening is crucial for us to allow the best visitor experience possible.
The evening is also free for carers and under 3’s. Tickets are available here.
