In line with Government guidance on COVID-19, the National Marine Aquarium will be closing to members of the public from 5pm on Friday 20th March 2020 until further notice.
As a responsible tourism destination, we believe that a temporary closure is in the best interests of the health and safety our staff, volunteers, members and general visitors.
We would like to reassure you that the health of the animals in our care will not be compromised by this decision, and that although our doors will be closed to the public, a team of committed and experienced biologists, and engineers will remain on duty. This team will ensure the wellbeing of our animals and will continue to maintain the Aquarium’s critical life-support systems, while taking the necessary precautions to protect themselves against the spread of COVID-19.
We understand that this will come as a disappointment to those who may have planned to visit us over the coming weeks. If you booked online tickets to the Aquarium in advance of your visit, you can either postpone your visit or request a refund. Keep in mind, that your ticket will be valid for 6 months from the date of purchase and therefore could be used after we reopen. Thank you for your patience at this time whilst we do our best to attend to your questions via email or phone.
Please reply to your booking confirmation email to make the necessary arrangements if you require a refund.
If you have a booked function or conference at the Aquarium, you can choose a new date in the future. Please contact email@example.com to discuss options.
If you have a school booking, you can choose a new date or find out if you’ll be affected by emailing the team on firstname.lastname@example.org
Here at the National Marine Aquarium, our charity is playing our part in supporting the government’s plans to halt the spread of the covin-19 pandemic. This means that the Aquarium being closed will impact a number of those with annual return passes who are unable to visit due to the enforced lockdown.
Despite our closure, it has been decided that we will honour the time that you have not been able to visit, by adding that time onto the end of your annual return passes, therefore allowing you to be able to come back in again at your leisure when the governments restrictions are lifted.
Thank you for your understanding and all the support that you show towards our Aquarium and the work that we are able to do through the Ocean Conservation Trust. If during this period of closure you would like to continue to support us, and want to renew your passes online, this can be activated and would start from the point where we open again and would still include the time that we have been closed for.
If you have any questions about this, or would like to see how you can support us doing this time, please contact our team at email@example.com
For any questions or queries that are not answered above please email firstname.lastname@example.org
Following government advice to limit social gatherings of large groups we are temporary suspending all afterhours and daytime experiences and activities. This includes; V.I.P Behind the Scenes Tours, public Sleeping with Sharks Sleepovers, Loola Land Soft Play and Toddler Tuesday Morning.
If you have booked to visit but we are closed, and would like to either;
Please reply to your booking confirmation email with the option you would like. At this time, please allow extra time for a response. Thank you for your support.
