If you’re currently indoors and looking fun things to keep you busy then look no further. In line with Government guidance on COVID-19, the National Marine Aquarium is currently closed, but that doesn’t mean you can’t still have some Aquarium fun! All of the below has been designed to help you learn more about our amazing animals, or even just relax and unwind at this stressful time. We’ll be uploading more content each week, so keep an eye on this page and our social channels!
Aquarium Toddler Crafts
As we can’t run our weekly Toddler Tuesday sessions at the Aquarium, our amazing Ocean Discovery Ranger, Summer, will be showing you how to make short and simple toddler crafts at home each week. Take a look at the ones we’ve already put out, and keep an eye on our social media pages for another craft video every Tuesday at 10am.
Toilet Roll Animals
Facebook Live Videos
Even though we’re closed to the public, our expert team of Biologist Divers are still working hard behind the scenes to look after our thousands of animals. Every week, we’re going to be posting a new Facebook Live video so you can see them at work, find out more about our animals, and ask any questions you may have. Once the videos are finished, we upload them to YouTube for you to watch again and again. Check out the videos below of our past Live Videos, and don’t forget to tune in live on our Facebook page every Wednesday at 10am.
Shark and Turtle Feed
Great Barrier Reef Feed
A few years ago we carried out a peace of research looking into the therapeutic qualities of visiting and looking at aquariums. It was scientifically proven to de-stress you. So, with that in mind, we’ll be uploading a video a week of one of our amazing exhibits. You can sit back and relax and watch!
If you’re enjoying our videos while at home and are able to make a donation, you’d be supporting our animal care team and will also be helping us to continue creating original educational content for you and your family at home. Running an aquarium and looking after over 4,000 animals isn’t cheap, anything you can give would mean the world.
