The Ocean Conservation Trust is a charity with a mission of ‘Connecting us with our Ocean’. We are committed to conserving the marine environment and inspiring others to do the same. The Discovery and Learning Team at the Ocean Conservation Trust is looking to recruit a member of staff to join our Ocean Advocacy & Engagement Team.

As a Schools Telemarketer you will be based at the National Marine Aquarium, within the Marketing department. Your primary role will be to expand our audience by initiating telephone conversations with school staff, promoting their uptake of the Ocean Conservation Trust Learning Programme.

As well as initial introductory calls, you will be expected to provide additional written information and make follow-up calls as required in order to encourage schools to complete bookings with the National Marine Aquarium. As part of the role, you will also be contributing to the creation of an inhouse Schools contact database.

As a people focused conservation charity we are looking for a confident, motivated individual who is able to demonstrate enthusiasm for our work and a clear sense of purpose when communicating on the phone.

ESSENTIAL

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

· Excellent phone manner

· Highly organised individual with refined time management skills.

· Experience working in marketing or sales promotion

DESIRABLE

· Familiarity with the Ocean Conservation Trust Learning Programme

· Ability to articulate enthusiastically and persuasively without pressure

· Background or experience of telesales
