Campaign for drawing

Campaign for drawing

The Campaign for Drawing aims to get everyone drawing!

Why? Drawing helps us think, invent and communicate. It shapes the appearance of our homes, clothes, transport, cities and much else.

The campaign took its initial inspiration from the visionary Victorian artist and writer, John Ruskin. He saw drawing as a tool for observation and knowledge. The campaign promotes drawing as a valuable skill for life. Join in The Big Draw in October.

This October, hundreds of venues across the UK, from village halls and nursery schools to national museums and castles, are taking part in the Campaign's annual programme, The Big Draw. The events span art, science, design and the environment, showing how drawing connects generations and communities.

The Big Draw proves that drawing can be an enjoyable public activity, as well as a private passion. That's why it has spread to twenty other countries and five continents.
