The National Marine Aquarium (NMA) has an exciting SEA-lection of events and activities planned throughout December, to help the festive season go swimmingly.
Younger visitors can take part in a special Christmas Magical Migrations trail and learn how it’s not just humans that come together over the festive period. There will also be seasonal craft activities, plus interactive shows and talks taking place throughout December.
On Wednesday 12th December the last NMA late of 2018 ‘Pints, Pies and PhDs’ will take place. The NMA has invited PhD students from the University of Plymouth to present their research and scientific discoveries, whilst visitors enjoy Mince Pies and drinks in a social atmosphere.
Santa Claus will be making an appearance at the NMA to join the colourful collection of marine life in our Eddystone Reef tank on the 13th, 15th, 16th, 19th, 20th, 22nd, and 24th December at 2pm.
On 23rd December, visitors to the NMA are invited to a winter wonderland for ‘A Christmas Night to Remember’. The evening will include the chance to feast upon delicious mince pies and mulled wine while a Christmas choir provides the festive entertainment. Santa will be making a special visit and will be diving in the Eddystone Reef tank before presenting every child with a Christmas gift.
The unmissable Sleeping with Sharks event will return on 30th December, where young visitors will have the chance to discover life under the water, out of hours.
