Celebrate World Ocean Day on 6th June
To celebrate World Ocean Day 2009, the Plymouth Marine Science Partnership is organising a family event on the 6th June on the sea, shore and at the National Marine Aquarium.
There will be plenty of marine-themed activities; below is an outline of the day:
11am Start the day with a free Seahorse Safari at Batten Bay. Marine scientists will help you to explore the marine life of Plymouth Sound and there will be prizes in our beach sculpture competition.
12pm onwards Bring a picnic and enjoy the delights of the Maritime Garden at the aquarium. There will be fun for the kids and marine-themed stalls for the adults.
2pm Meet the star of an exciting new children's television programme - Nettlecatfish, a quirky character sure to become a firm favourite.
3pm Enjoy the delights of the aquarium. Talks and games.
Please wear suitable footwear for the Seahorse Safari and, if rain is forecast wet weather gear.
