The UK’s first captive-bred Eagle Ray pups!

19th August 2016

Here at the National Marine Aquarium we are please to announce the birth of two new Spotted Eagle Ray pups. They are the UK’s first captive-bred Spotted Eagle Rays and are so are a major success following a seven-year project.

Kitts, one of the our female Spotted Eagle Rays, recently gave birth twin pups – one male and one female – both are healthy and feeding well.

We are delighted with the success of our Spotted Eagle Ray captive breeding programme, and to have two healthy pups at the Aquarium is testament to the hard work that everyone has contributed over several years.
