Not all super-hero’s wear capes. They come in all shapes and sizes, just like the creatures of the ocean. Just like a superhero our volunteers work super hard to entertain, educate and drive marine conservation to the members of the public. We can’t thank them enough for giving up their spare time to help achieve our goals.
Volunteers get to take part in the variety of shows that take place throughout the year especially aiding our new Shark Shows exclusive this Summer!
Volunteers come in all shapes and sizes at the National Marine Aquarium and can be found not just in front of the tanks, but inside them! We have volunteer divers from around the world and volunteer interns that help our husbandry team breathe life into the tanks. If you feel you could become a National Marine Aquarium Super-Hero contact us right away and we can supply you your very own cape! (Subject to availability, please avoid local flight paths).
“Volunteering at the Aquarium has been a fantastic opportunity, I have been able to meet a huge diversity of people and really develop my communication skills. Engaging with the public and generating enthusiasm for the environment is so rewarding, and being able to do so with such a great team is a huge bonus.” – Shaun, resident Host volunteer.
We asked volunteer Dean, who has been volunteering at the Aquarium for some time, how he would describe his experience. “Good place, good people and good times”.
We are currently in the midst of our summer of Super Sharks! Inside you can meet and greet our hosts and volunteers and take part in our Super Summer trail. Collect your comic book from the welcome desk and begin your journey to super charge our hero sharks. Also by completing our feedback forms, telling us about everything you’ve learnt about our Jawsome sharks, you will be entered into a mystery prize draw.
Get involved this Summer email firstname.lastname@example.org and say why you’d like to volunteer with us!
