Toddler Blog: Wishes for the New Year

2nd January 2019

The start of a new year is a fantastic time for making wishes and over the last few months the National Marine Aquarium has been working in partnership with Friends of Glass and British Glass to collect your ‘Wishes for the Ocean’. Friends of Glass is a community which supports the use of glass packaging over other materials as it is easily recyclable, made from natural materials and can help us to reduce the amount of single use materials we find in our everyday lives.

For our last Toddler Tuesday session of 2018, we asked the little ones and their grownups to tell us their wishes for the fishes!

These are some of our favourites:

  • ‘All the fish are happy’
  • ‘I wish the fish can find lots of food to eat’
  • ‘I wish there are always sharks and whales under the sea’
  • ‘Happy fish’
  • ‘That we only use fish friendly tinsel at Christmas’
  • ‘The end of plastic pollution’
  • ‘I wish for the sharks to have a lovely home in the sea’
  • ‘For batman to keep the fish and ocean safe’

What are your ‘Wishes for the Ocean’? Will you make it your New Year’s resolution to use more glass in 2019?

Toddler Tuesdays will return on January 8th when we set sail for the Open Oceans! We wish you a Merry Fishmas and a Crabby New Year!

Toddler Tuesdays is limited to 15 spaces per session and tickets are sold on a first come, first served basis! Come along early to avoid disappointment.
