Neptune

Meet Neptune, our giant Pacific octopus. She has eight arms, three hearts and can change the colour of her skin! She loves puzzles and games and plays with our biologists every day at 1:30pm – why not come along and join in the fun? If you fancy a challenge, try and do you best octopus impression in a photo in front of Neptune’s tank and send it to us on social media.

Neptune is our giant Pacific octopus (Enteroctopus dofleini), the largest species of octopus in the world. They live in the cooler waters of the North Pacific and the largest species ever recorded was a giant 9.1 metres across! Octopuses are highly intelligent creatures and to ensure that Neptune is kept entertained and active we play with her and set her tasks during her daily feed at 1:30pm. Why not come along and see her play with our biologists?
