I really do like talking to people. And then I got my ideal job, here as a Host, talking to families about all the amazing animals you find in the sea. It’s pretty great! We do such a range of different talks here at the NMA, and I love each and every one of them for a different reason.
I’ve been debating for a while now which one talk/show is my favourite though. It’s taken me some time, but I’ve come to the conclusion that the Shark show is for sure my favourite.
“Sharks”. Even their name is just so cool… and an audience gets excited just at the prospect of seeing one! …And rightly so, Sharks are seen as the most ferocious predator of the sea. But, once our audience learns about the sharks we have, they soon realise that they’re not all as scary as it seems. I mean, take Enzo for example, you would think, as a male shark just under 2 and a half meters in length, he wouldn’t be afraid of anything… nuh-uhh… he’s afraid of the dark. Yep. It’s true, he has his own nightlight.
Don’t get me wrong though, Sharks are definitely at the top of their food chain for a reason… Never ending rows of teeth, super flexible bodies that enables them to be speedy, AND they even have a sixth sense; picking up the heart beats of fish in the water. No wonder they have an infamous reputation.
But… If you come along to our show you’ll see that Sharks don’t harm as many people as you would expect. And there are so many other things in your daily lives that should fright you more than swimming with sharks. Take a Selfie, that’s more threatening to your health than a shark is, believe it or not!
So that’s why I’ve concluded that The Shark Show is my favourite show. I like to think I can change someone’s opinion on sharks but let’s face it… it’s a great show simply because I get to talk about some of the most awesome-ist creatures on the planet.
